GENERAL
·
Ask
the chief engineer for permission and inform the bridge that maintenance will
be carried out ( if applicable, i.e. maintenance on propulsion equipment /
stabilizers / safety and lifesaving equipment etc ).
·
Inform
senior watch engineer (SWE) about all maintenance that will be performed in the
engine room.
·
Follow
the log/tag-out procedure as per MR600 section 5.
·
Use
necessary personal protection equipment (PPE).
JOB INSTRUCTION
·
Switch
engine to 1 - local.
·
Isolate
the starting air on the engine, see “ engine starting air isolation procedure”
·
At
the control stand place the emergency-off lever in the stop position ( see
picture)
·
Refer
to drawing “ Main Engine FO isolation V/V’s and :
Ø Close valve 1/3 and attach the
related tag.
Ø Close valve 2/3 and attach the
related tag.
Ø Close valve 3/3 and attach related
tag.
·
Relief
the pressure from the engine FO system by opening the FO duplex filter and
drain valves.
·
Display
on the ECR mimic panel “ DG ISOLATED”
